# Aimeos

Laravel e-commerce package configured through config/shop.php, with JSON:API and GraphQL admin API.

Full-featured Laravel commerce distribution: catalog, basket, checkout, subscriptions, multi-vendor, multi-channel, and an admin backend, with 100+ payment gateways. The frontend is a JSON:API and the admin is a GraphQL API, both shipped by the Builder. MIT licensed; the Builder documents configuration in depth.

Alternative to: Shopify, Adobe Commerce

## Use it when

- I want a Laravel shop with subscriptions or multi-vendor that I can tune in one config file
- I need a JSON:API storefront backend and a GraphQL admin API so agents and apps can both drive it

## Gotchas

- Authentication for the APIs is not spelled out on the JSON:API getting-started page
- The aimeos/aimeos repo is the Laravel distribution; the core lives in aimeos/aimeos-core and other packages

## Editions

- Open source: Free, open source
  - source: composer create-project aimeos/aimeos myshop
  - container: docker compose up

## Adaptable: make it yours

Effort: config-only (20 things to edit)

The .env sets the Laravel basics plus SHOP_MULTISHOP, SHOP_MULTILOCALE, SHOP_REGISTRATION, and SHOP_PERMISSION; config/shop.php is the large documented switchboard for catalog, basket, checkout, payment, and delivery behavior. Aimeos's docs cover configuration exhaustively, so a standard shop is a config job; template overrides are the first code step.

- Env vars: APP_NAME, APP_URL, APP_KEY, DB_CONNECTION, DB_HOST, DB_DATABASE, DB_USERNAME, DB_PASSWORD, MAIL_MAILER, MAIL_HOST, MAIL_FROM_ADDRESS, CACHE_DRIVER, QUEUE_CONNECTION, SHOP_MULTISHOP, SHOP_MULTILOCALE, SHOP_REGISTRATION, SHOP_PERMISSION, AWS_BUCKET
- Config files: .env, config/shop.php
- Prompt files: none
- Accounts you'll need: payment gateway account (Omnipay providers)

## Operable: what an agent can drive

Operability: official. Interface: api at https://aimeos.org/docs/latest/frontend/jsonapi/ (published by the builder, local).
