# Mixpost

MIT Laravel social scheduler; the free Lite edition has no API, so agents can only reach the paid tiers.

Mixpost is a self-hosted social media manager shipped as a Laravel package and Docker image: calendar and queue scheduling, media library, post templates, hashtag groups, and workspaces. The free Lite edition (MIT) covers Facebook Pages, X, and Mastodon; Pro and Enterprise are one-time paid, source-available licenses that add the other networks, analytics, and the API. No official agent interface exists for Lite; one small third-party MCP wraps the paid API.

## Use it when

- I only post to a Facebook Page, X, and Mastodon and want a clean scheduler I own under MIT
- I already run Laravel and want scheduling inside my own app rather than a separate service

## Gotchas

- The free edition has no API, so there is no agent path into Lite short of screen control; the wrapper only works against Pro or Enterprise
- Lite supports only Facebook Pages, X, and Mastodon; Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and the rest are paid
- Last push to the Lite repo was 2026-03-16, two weeks inside the activity window; Pro moves faster
- Pro and Enterprise source may be modified for internal use only; they are not open
- Requires a public domain before install

## Editions

- Lite: Free, open source
  - source: https://github.com/inovector/mixpost
  - installable: composer require inovector/mixpost
  - container: https://docs.mixpost.app/lite/installation/docker
- Pro: $299 once, closed source
  - hosted: https://mixpost.app/pricing
- Enterprise: $1,199 once, closed source
  - hosted: https://mixpost.app/pricing

## Adaptable: make it yours

Effort: config-only (9 things to edit)

Install the package into a Laravel app or run the Docker image, set APP_URL to a public domain (social platforms must reach it), and tune config/mixpost.php: storage disk, cache prefix, log channel, auth guard, and FFmpeg paths. The docs have a dedicated environment-variables page for Lite. Adding a network Lite lacks means buying Pro, not editing code.

- Env vars: APP_URL, MIXPOST_DISK, MIXPOST_CACHE_PREFIX, MIXPOST_LOG_CHANNEL, MIXPOST_AUTH_GUARD, FFMPEG_PATH, FFPROBE_PATH
- Config files: config/mixpost.php, .env
- Prompt files: none
- Accounts you'll need: developer app on Facebook, X, and Mastodon (Lite)

## Operable: what an agent can drive

Operability: wrapped. Interface: mcp at https://github.com/pfarag/mixpost-mcp-server (third party, local).
Recommended wrapper: https://github.com/pfarag/mixpost-mcp-server. the only Mixpost MCP found (MIT, pushed 2026-06-05, 1 star); it wraps the REST API that ships only in Pro and Enterprise Runner-up: none found.

### Reach (none coverage)

- Schedule posts to Facebook Pages, X, and Mastodon (Lite networks): not reachable. Lite has no API (mixpost.app/pricing); the wrapper needs the Pro API
- Publish to Instagram: not reachable. Instagram is a Pro and Enterprise network; not in Lite
- Publish to TikTok: not reachable. TikTok is a Pro and Enterprise network; not in Lite
- Publish to YouTube: not reachable. YouTube is a Pro and Enterprise network; not in Lite
- Manage the media library: not reachable. no Lite API; Pro API scope not verified
- Use post templates, variables, and hashtag groups: not reachable. no Lite API
- Read analytics: not reachable. analytics is a Pro feature; no Lite API
- Run team workspaces: not reachable. no Lite API

## Open questions

- Should the Curator downgrade operability to gui for the free edition, since the only wrapper cannot reach Lite?
- Verify the Lite environment-variables page for additional documented vars
- Will the Lite repo see a commit before the activity window closes on this listing?
