# TryPost

Open-source social scheduler for 12 networks with a first-class MCP server and REST API.

TryPost is a Laravel and Vue social media scheduler: one calendar publishing natively to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, and Discord, with an AI copilot, automations, workspaces, and approvals. The Builder ships an MCP server with 31 tools at /mcp/trypost (OAuth 2.1) and a REST API. Self-hosting is free under AGPL; cloud is $12 per workspace.

## Use it when

- I want Claude or Cursor to draft and schedule my week of posts through MCP, on a scheduler I host
- I run several client brands and need workspaces and approvals without per-seat pricing

## Gotchas

- AGPL-3.0
- MCP accepts only OAuth 2.1 tokens with the mcp:use scope; dashboard API keys do not work against the MCP endpoint
- Each network needs your own developer app and, for Meta and TikTok, platform review
- 579 stars and a 2026 launch: younger and less battle-tested than Postiz
- Needs Redis and a websocket server (Reverb) in addition to PHP and a database

Copy .env.example: set APP_URL and SELF_HOSTED, database, Redis, mail, and Reverb websockets, then add a client ID and secret per network. AI_TEXT_PROVIDER, AI_IMAGE_PROVIDER, and AI_AUDIO_PROVIDER pick which of OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter, or ElevenLabs the copilot uses. ALLOW_MULTIPLE_SOCIAL_ACCOUNTS and X_DEFUSE_LINKS are behavior toggles. Brand voice is set in-app, not in files.
