docassemble
Guided interviews and document assembly from YAML, with a REST API to run and manage them.
docassemble is a web platform where you write interviews in YAML and Python that ask users questions and assemble documents such as contracts, intake forms and proposals. It runs as one Docker container. A documented REST API starts sessions, sets variables, manages users, the Playground, packages and server configuration.
- you need guided intake forms or contract generation where answers drive which documents get produced
- you want your agent to start sessions, fill answers and fetch generated documents through an API
- the API needs a key per user, and privileged calls need a key from an admin or a user with a matching permission; API keys do not expire
- the Docker image is the supported install; the repo README itself only points to the website
- env vars listed are deployment settings; business behavior lives in interview YAML and config.yml
- the API has no call for live chat or touchscreen signatures; those run in the user's browser

Interviews are YAML files with embedded Python that define questions, logic and document templates. config.yml sets branding and routing with keys such as default interview, default title, start page title, brandname, bootstrap theme and dispatch, plus feature switches like enable api. config.yml alone rebrands the site; your own intake flow and documents need a written interview, so effort is light-edit rather than config-only.

Operable: what an agent can drive
Interface
OfficialAPIpublished by the builderlocal
How an agent can drive an Operable Listing, in five levels: native (built for the agent as the primary interface), official (the Builder ships an agent interface), wrapped (a third party wraps the software's API), config (an agent can only drive it by editing files), gui (screen control only). An interface is official only when it is published by the same organization that ships the software. GUI-level Listings are allowed and sorted last.
Reach
Partial coverage. 9 of 10 jobs reachable through the stated interface.

| Start and run an interview session | Reachable | GET /api/session/new, GET/POST /api/session, POST /api/session/action |
